Quadrant Energy has been a proud supporter of Whitfords Volunteer Sea Rescue Group (WVSRG) since 2016, contributing to the purchase of a new 4WD support vehicle and state-of-the-art navigation and electronics packages for the Group’s support vessels, as well as other safety equipment.
WVSRG has been providing marine search and rescue services to the local Western Australian boating community for over 40 years. With over 100 active volunteer members, the group operates three purpose-built rescue vessels and a 24/7 radio service from City Beach in the south, to Alkimos in the north, and 30 nautical miles out to sea.
Bob Jacobs, Deputy Commander, says that members of the boating public benefit from the group’s ability to locate vessels or persons in the water much faster than before, thanks to the generosity of Quadrant Energy.
“As well as faster response times, our boat crews have welcomed the safety improvements when operating the vessels, especially at night and in difficult conditions”.
Quadrant Energy and WVSRG share a strong commitment to safety, and in particular sea safety.
All recreational boaters are reminded to check their boat and safety equipment before leaving the shore and encouraged to complete a radio log on and log off for the trip.
